Terms of Service
Last updated: September 17, 2026
Harness is a product of Screendesk, our parent company. “Screendesk”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the company operating Harness. “You” means the person or organization using Harness.
These terms cover your use of Harness and supplement Screendesk’s Terms of Service. By creating an account or using Harness, you agree to these terms. If you use Harness for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization. A separately signed agreement controls where it expressly conflicts with these terms, and applicable mandatory law continues to apply.
1. Accounts and access
Provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. Account registration must be performed by a person; authorized agents and automations may operate within an account after it is created. You are responsible for the users you invite, the permissions you grant, and activity you authorize through your account.
You must be legally able to enter this agreement and meet applicable age requirements. You may not use Harness to obtain access to another person’s account, workspace, or information without permission.
2. What Harness does
Harness helps users organize work, connect tools and knowledge, collaborate with agents, and run tasks and automations. Features may retrieve information, produce content, call third-party tools, and request clarification or approval.
The availability and behavior of features depend on your plan, configuration, permissions, and third-party services. Unless a separate agreement says otherwise, Harness is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation or suitability for every purpose.
3. Connected services and your authorization
Only connect accounts, data sources, and execution environments you are authorized to use. You authorize Harness to access and process information and perform actions within the permissions, instructions, and approvals you provide. Third-party terms continue to apply, including their usage limits and charges.
Review permissions before enabling a connection or sharing a resource. You are responsible for keeping those permissions appropriate and revoking access when it is no longer needed. Removing a Harness connection does not cancel a third-party subscription or automatically remove information previously sent to that third party.
4. Agents, generated content, and approvals
AI-generated results can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purpose. Review important output and verify the information needed for your decisions. Generated content is not a substitute for qualified professional advice when that is required.
Before approving an action, check its destination, content, and consequences. An approval can authorize an external change, such as creating a record, updating information, or sending content through a connected service. Actions already completed outside Harness may not be reversible by deleting the task or disconnecting the tool.
You are responsible for the work you request and approve, including its legality and any required permissions. Do not bypass approval controls, misrepresent authorization, or use an agent to access information you could not lawfully access yourself.
5. Your content and privacy
You retain your rights in the content you provide. You grant Screendesk the limited rights needed to host, process, transmit, and display that content to provide Harness and carry out your authorized instructions. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit the content and direct its processing.
Personal information is handled as described in the Harness Privacy Policy and Screendesk’s applicable privacy commitments. Where applicable, the Screendesk Data Processing Addendum forms part of the terms governing customer-data processing. Your organization remains responsible for its instructions, notices, and lawful basis for information it processes through Harness.
AI output may resemble output produced for others. We do not guarantee that generated content is unique, accurate, or free of third-party rights. Your use of output remains subject to applicable law and provider terms.
6. Acceptable use
Use Harness lawfully and respect the rights of others. You must not use the service for fraud, harassment, unlawful surveillance, harmful or deceptive impersonation, unsolicited abusive communications, infringement of intellectual property or privacy rights, distribution of malicious software, or attempts to compromise the service or connected systems.
You must not evade access controls or rate limits, interfere with other customers, misuse credentials, or use automation to disguise prohibited activity. Screendesk’s use restrictions also apply to Harness.
7. Plans, payment, and cancellation
Paid features are subject to the prices, billing periods, usage limits, and payment terms presented when you subscribe or set out in your agreement. You are responsible for applicable charges and taxes. Third-party model, infrastructure, or connected-service charges may be billed separately by those providers.
Manage your subscription through the available billing controls or contact support@screendesk.io for assistance. The applicable plan and Screendesk’s terms govern renewals, cancellation, and refunds. Deleting an individual task or disconnecting a service does not cancel your Harness subscription.
8. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Harness and request account closure. Export or save information you need before closing an account. Closure may remove access for other users in a workspace, and deleting an account may be irreversible.
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access for a material violation of these terms, non-payment, a security threat, unlawful activity, or where required by law. Where practicable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue. Urgent action may be needed to protect users or the service.
Retention and deletion after closure follow the applicable privacy policy and any agreement with your organization. Provisions intended to survive termination, including accrued payment obligations, content rights, and liability limitations, continue to apply.
9. Service ownership and third-party rights
Screendesk and its licensors retain their rights in Harness, including its software, design, and branding. These terms permit use of the service; they do not transfer ownership of it. Third-party software, content, and services remain subject to their applicable licenses and terms.
10. Responsibility and limits of liability
The warranty disclaimers and limitations of liability in Screendesk’s Terms of Service apply to Harness to the extent permitted by law. This includes the risks associated with service interruptions, inaccurate output, third-party services, and unauthorized use resulting from a failure to protect account credentials.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, or removes mandatory rights you may have under applicable consumer or data protection law.
11. Changes and contact
We may improve, change, or discontinue features and update these terms. We will update the date on this page and notify account holders of material changes as required by law and the applicable Screendesk terms. Any governing-law or dispute-resolution provisions in your separately signed agreement remain applicable.
